North Parmelia Primary School is situated in Kwinana, approximately 40km south of Perth and was built in 1971. The school has retained its 'bush' setting, although development in the area has seen housing beginning to encroach ever closer. The Kwinana railway station is situated approximately 800 metres from the school.

The school population currently stands at 370 children catering for students from Kindergarten (4 year olds) through to Year 6. In 2008, Middle Schooling, including Year 7, began at Gilmore College (Kwinana).

Academic and social success has a high priority at the school. A strong pastoral care program ensures students demonstrate high standards through the school's inclusive and safe learning environment. The whole school approach of 'Friendly Schools and Families' supports the positive school culture. The school uses funding supplied through the Behaviour Management in Schools (BMiS) strategy to upskill teachers in the Classroom Management and Instructional Strategies (CMS) program.
